Adilette was the first ever pair of sandals made by Adidas, originally created in 1963. It came about when a group of athletes approached the Adidas founder Adi Dassler, requesting a casual shoe be made that was suitable for the locker room.

To this day, the resulting Adilette Slides are a best seller around the world. Since the very first original navy blue and white Adilette slides were created over fifty years ago, more and more varieties have been designed in a series of different colours (black, green, red, orange, brown, grey, yellow, gold, pink, silver). In more recent years Adidas has released an all new colour scheme that goes along with the Adidas adizero and Predator line; the scheme is nicknamed warning (orange) and purple. Normally, the famous three stripes appear in the contrasting colour situated on the strap of all of the classic models. The most common of all the adilette slides is in navy blue or black, combined with a clean white colour.

The adidas adilette provides a perfectly contoured orthopedic rubber sole and synthetic upper, and was designed specifically for sporting use, but the adilette slides were quickly adopted for every day use outside of the sporting world. Opting for a wider, over the foot fitted strap rather than the older design of flip flops / thongs, the adilette sandals provide you with a fresher style and a significantly better level of comfort. The strap is also fixed to the sides of the sandals, as opposed to the older style adjustable sandals, which is done to direct tension to the less stressful areas of the sandal, and in doing so gives the sandals much more durability.
